- To begin, set your oven to broil.
- While the broiler is heating, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Place salmon filets on the lined baking sheet. Drizzle each filet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Using a pastry brush or your hands, make sure the oil is evenly distributed on both sides of the salmon.
- Repeat for all 4 filets, ending with the skin side down.
- Next, season each filet with 1 teaspoon of lemon-pepper seasoning and salt (if needed, to taste).
- Once all filets are seasoned and the broiler is heated, place the baking sheet directly under the broiler.
- Broil the salmon for 5 to 10 minutes until the outside is crisp and inside is tender and flaky. Because salmon cooking time can vary by thickness, start checking for doneness at around 5 minutes.
- You can confirm doneness by inserting an instant read thermometer into the thickest part of each filet. Cooked salmon will have an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- To serve, carefully remove each filet from the baking sheet with a spatula and place on a serving dish.
- If desired, finish with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon juice.
