Oven Baked Trout

Ingredients
  

  • 4 trout filets
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 lemons (one for slicing, one for fresh lemon juice)
  • 4 tbsp garlic powder (or seasonings of choice- onion powder, lemon pepper, etc.)
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Method
 

  1. Begin by preheating the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Next, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the trout filets on top, skin side down
  3. Drizzle each filet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Using a pastry brush or spoon, spread the oil evenly over each filet
  4. Next, sprinkle the fish with desired seasonings such as salt, black pepper, and garlic powder
  5. Next, slice 1 lemon, placing 1-2 slices on each filet of fish
  6. Place the fish in the oven and let it bake for about 12-15 minutes
  7. Check for doneness by using a food thermometer. The internal temperature of the fish should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit
  8. Once cooked, carefully remove the filets from the baking sheet with a fish spatula
  9. Discard the lemon slices and serve
  10. If desired, cut some additional lemon wedges for serving, enjoy!
