Pan Fried Trout

Ingredients
  

  • 4 trout filets
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil
  • sea salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • dried seasonings of choice (garlic powder, cumin, paprika, etc.)
  • lemon and/or fresh herbs for serving

Instructions
 

  • Pat your trout filets dry to remove any excess moisture. Season with desired seasonings or spice blends, plus salt and pepper as desired
  • Next, preheat a large pan over medium/high heat
  • Let the pan heat up, then add your olive oil, making sure it evenly coats the pan
  • Place filets in the heated pan, leaving room between each filet. (Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this will disrupt browning)
  • Cook on the first side for 3 minutes, flip and continue for another 3
  • Check for doneness by inserting an instant read thermometer into the fish. The internal temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Once cooked, remove from the pan and serve. Sprinkle with lemon and fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy!
