To begin, gather the following ingredients:

  • 4 trout filets
  • 2-3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt (to taste)
  • Black Pepper (to taste)
  • Dried seasonings of choice (such as garlic powder, cumin, paprika, etc.) or premade seasoning blend of choice
  • Lemon and/or fresh herbs for serving

With ingredients gathered, follow the simple steps below to have a meal on the table in under 30 minutes.

  1. Pat your trout filets dry to remove any excess moisture. Season with desired seasonings or spice blends, plus salt and pepper as desired.
  2. Next, preheat a large pan over medium/high heat.
  3. Let the pan heat up, then add your olive oil, making sure it evenly coats the pan.
  4. Place filets in the heated pan, leaving room between each filet. (Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this will disrupt browning)
  5. Cook on the first side for 3 minutes, flip and continue for another 3.
  6. Check for doneness by inserting an instant read thermometer into the fish. The internal temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the pan and serve. Sprinkle with lemon and fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy!

This simple and delicious dinner comes together in just a few minutes for an easy and incredible meal. Pair with a simple side like steamed rice or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
