Grilled Trout

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 people
Course: Main Course

Ingredients

  • 4 trout filets
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 4 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tsp smoked paprika or cumin (optional)
  • lemon (for serving)

Method

  1. Begin by preheating your grill on medium/high to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. While the grill is heating, place trout filets on a clean surface (plate or sheet pan) to season
  3. Drizzle each filet with olive oil, using a pastry brush to evenly coat the filets
  4. Next, season the trout with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and other seasonings as desired
  5. If available, place the trout filets in a fish grilling basket. Alternatively, place the filets directly on the grill grates, skin side down
  6. Grill trout on each side for 3 to 5 minutes until cooked through
  7. You can check for doneness by inserting an instant read thermometer into the fish. The internal temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit
  8. Serve hot off the grill with fresh lemon. Enjoy!
